North Prairie United Methodist Church

About Our Church

Most 2005 Committee Chairs will be selected January 9th. Selected chair people are listed below. The remaining positions will be posted by our February edition. As leaders of the church they work for the good of all. Feel free to check in with any one of these people with any input regarding their areas. Recognize that these folks don't work alone, but with members of the many committees who also donate their time and effort. You could be on any one of these teams - just ask!

Our Church: Was one of the first churches in the area. It was established in the 1860's. We are located just outside the beautiful Kettle Moraine Forest Southern Unit in North Prairie, Wisconsin. Our congregation is committed to worship and care.

We have a place for Kids': Nursery during worship, Sunday School, Confirmation, Youth Groups for Jr/Sr High and Vacation Bible School.

We have Adult opportunities such as: Choir/Acoustic Grace, Thursday Bible Study, Companions in Christ, Sunday Christian Education and our Mary Circle.

North Prairie United Methodist Church is committed to programs for the Seniors and involved in Community service like: Meals on wheels sponsored by the Mary Circle, Food & Clothing Collections, participates in Cooperating Congregations of Greater Waukesha and we support Mission activities of the United Methodist Church.

OUTREACH:

"Getting the Job Done"

One of the realities of mission work is that there is much more to be done than the time and/or money to do it. How, then, can individuals or a church like ours make the decisions about what to do. We either pick and choose or sit frozen, like "a deer in headlights", and nothing gets done.

Well, we have made some decisions and through the Outreach Committee we are active with Coats for Families, the Waukesha County Food Pantry, toy collections and the Caring Sharing Loan Fund. Additionally, we financially support the Cooperating Congregations of Greater Waukesha which offers a wide variety of programs ranging from ministry in the County Jail to job training at the Donut Shoppe. We also are beginning to develop a relationship with the Interfaith Caring Network of Waukesha.

Interfaith is a faith centered, volunteer organization serving individuals in need of services because of age or disability. Watch for more information about Interfaith and how we - YOU - can help. Brochures are available in the church.
